Day by day.
Day 1 - Nairobi to Masai Mara
Welcome-Meeting Your Guide: You will be met at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and given an overview of your tour. Drive to Masai Mara: Depart from Nairobi, drive through the Great Rift Valley, and stop at the viewpoints for scenery exhibit on Masai Mara National Reserve. Lunch: Arrive at Mara Simba Lodge and enjoy lunch. Afternoon Game Drive: Embark on your first game drive in Masai Mara and come across elephants, lions, and cheetahs whilst discovering this amazing place.
Day 2 - Masai Mara
Morning Game Drive: Set out early on a morning game drive to see active wildlife, including the early risers and nocturnal animals still about from the night before. Breakfast: Return to the lodge for breakfast, then have a free morning for relaxation. Afternoon Game Drive: After lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive, continuing until dusk. Dinner & Overnight: Return to the Mara Leisure Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation. Optional: Spend the full day inside Masai Mara, including a visit to the hippo pool and enjoying a picnic lunch in the park.
Day 3 - Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park via Isebania
Early Morning: Following breakfast, leave Masai Mara and head for the Isebania border, the official crossing point to enter Tanzania. Border Crossing: Complete the immigration paperwork and formalities for a brief stop at the border. Cross over to Tanzania and proceed on a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Serengeti National Park. En-Route Game Drive: Enjoy a game drive midway through the journey and marvel at the park's sweeping plains and otherworldly landscapes of lions, crocodiles, and local bird species. Dinner & Overnight: Immerse in the comfort of your lodge or campsite for the night. Optional: Instead of driving, take a one-hour flight from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park.
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park
Morning Game Drive: Take a morning game drive to seek wildlife in the area around the Seronera Valley, known for its permanent water and year-round wildlife. • Lunch: Return to your lodge or campsite for lunch. Afternoon Exploration: Continue exploring the park by vehicle to see a large variety of habitats and ecosystems. The Serengeti's open plains are where you may find large populations of giraffes, zebras, hippos, and various bird species. Dinner & Overnight: End the day with dinner and relaxation at your lodge or campsite. Optional: Enhance your safari experience with a hot air balloon safari. Gain an aerial perspective of the Serengeti landscape and have a champagne breakfast upon landing.
Day 5 - Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning -Departure from Serengeti National Park after breakfast to go to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Optional Stops -Visit areas such as Olduvai Gorge, which is of great archaeological renown, and explore Maasai bomas to get an experience of local culture and traditions. Dinner & Overnight -After lunch, drive to your lodge/campsite in Ngorongoro, where you will have dinner and overnight to prepare for the next day's adventure.
Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater Safari to Lake Manyara
Crater Descent: After an early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater, a unique wildlife-rich ecosystem where you may encounter rhinos, lions, elephants, and various bird species. Game Drive: Spend the morning exploring this diverse landscape, observing the incredible wildlife that thrives in the crater's varied habitats. Lunch: After a picnic lunch, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Dinner and Overnight: Arrive at and check into your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Manyara.
Day 7 - Lake Manyara National Park & Return to Nairobi
Morning Game Drive: Early morning game drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its diverse birdlife and tree-climbing lions, plus lush vegetation. Breakfast: Back to the lodge or camp for breakfast. Transfer to Arusha: Following breakfast, drive to Arusha for some local shopping and lunch. Return to Nairobi: Board a public shuttle bus back to Nairobi, arriving in the evening. Overnight in Nairobi: Check into Hotel Fairview or same class hotel at night for the last time (dinner on your own, not included in tour cost).
Day 8 - Departure from Nairobi
Airport Drop-off: After breakfast, your guide will take you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to board your flight, concluding your fantastic Great Migration safari. This unforgettable 8-Day Kenya and Tanzania Safari Tour showcases the most luxurious experiences, a close-up view of the wildlife and landscapes of East Africa. There will be game drives, cultural interactions, and breathtaking views through some of the most iconic national parks and reserves on the continent.
