Day by day.
Day 1 - Simba Camp to Rongai Gate
After registration and a briefing, start your trek at Rongai Gate (1,950 meters / 6,398 feet). Watch for wildlife as you hike through pine forests and farmed areas. Arrive at your first mountain camp, Simba Camp (2,625 meters / 8,612 feet).
Day 2 - From Second Cave Camp to Simba Camp
With breathtaking views of Kibo and the eastern ice fields, keep hiking into the moorland. After arriving at Second Cave Camp (3,450 meters / 11,319 feet), take in the tranquil surroundings. An alternative to help acclimate is to hike to neighboring caverns.
Day 3 - Kikelewa Camp to Second Cave Camp
Climb through the moor in the direction of Kikelewa Cave while taking in the expansive views. Explore wide-open spaces and find unusual plant species. After reaching Kikelewa Camp (3,600 meters / 11,811 feet), make yourself at home for the evening.
Day 4 - Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kikelewa Camp
Ascend sharply to Mawenzi Tarn, which is beneath Mawenzi Peak.
As you get closer to the camp, take in the striking vistas and the rough terrain. Arrive to Mawenzi Tarn Camp at 14,160 feet / 4,315 meters, and spend the afternoon getting used to the altitude.
Day 5 - Mawenzi Tarn Camp Acclimatization Day
To acclimate, spend the day at Mawenzi Tarn Camp. An optional hike around the Mawenzi region to experience the breathtaking scenery and help with acclimatization.
Take a nap and get ready for the next day's hike to Kibo Hut.
Day 6 - Kibo Hut to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Walk through the Saddle's lunar desert, which lies between the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Reach Kibo Hut at 4,700 meters / 15,420 feet, and have a break before making the last push to the summit. Ahead of the summit attempt, get some rest and an early meal.
Day 7 - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
With the goal of reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters / 19,341 ft) at daybreak, start the summit ascent at midnight. Savor the thrill of seeing the magnificent sunrise while perched above Africa's roof. After taking a brief break at Kibo Hut, descend to Horombo Hut (3,720 meters / 12,205 feet) for the
Day 8 - Marangu Gate to Horombo Hut
To reach Marangu Gate, make the last descent through the verdant rainforest and moorlands. Get your summit certificates and celebrate your great ascent. Return to your lodging in Arusha or Moshi to wrap up your amazing adventure.
This is a suggested route. Your written proposal confirms the final schedule, stays and arrangements. On mountain trips, ask us to confirm arrival and departure nights separately from trekking days.

Plan for separately
- Flights Not Included: This excludes both domestic and international flights to and from Tanzania.
- Fees: Travelers are responsible for paying Tanzanian entry visa fees.
- Travelers' Insurance: Extensive travel insurance that covers evacuation, trip cancellation, and medical costs is not included. Visa, however strongly advised
- Personal Equipment: There are no climbing accessories like sleeping bags, hiking boots, warm clothes, or trekking poles provided.
- Tips: Although not required, gratuities are appreciated for porters, guides, and other service members.
- Extra Meals: Snacks and drinks, as well as any meals not included in the schedule, are not included.
- Personal Expenses: We do not pay for any personal expenses, including washing, souvenirs, or phone calls.
- Optional Activities: Optional excursions or activities outside of the planned itinerary are not included
- Medical Expenses: Any medical expenses incurred during the climb, including medications and treatment, are the responsibility of the traveller
- Airport Transfers: Airport transfers outside of the designated meeting points are not included
